Literature Text

You either die a hero,
or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

The darkest Knight is just before the dawn.

Well tell me, dear one…
When is this dawn coming?

Hold me.
Wash away the scars that have been created,
weaving my sorrows and my sins.

I have failed you.

He draws me close and tells me to forget.
Avenge. Murder. Deny.

Wait…
Why?…
Why have you come for me?

No! Please,
take heed of what I say to you tonight.

Lie to me.
Tell me all will be alright when the day is done,
when you know we are damned.

I never wanted it to be this way.
I never wanted to be like this.

I live my life by chance,
And all I receive is the burning.
Well, don’t mind me…
Haven’t you heard?
I quite enjoy it…
For it reminds me forever of you.

If they come for me now…
I will not fight.

I want to fall.
I want to fall.
...Its not all that great, but this poem has been itching and scratching its way out of me for days now.

This is Harvey's poem, just after he takes up his role as Two-Face. This is his beautiful tribute to his love Rachel.

He never wanted to be the bad guy...I am convinced of that. Comment if you wish, they make me smile.
